Description:

COTTON RIB KNIT FABRIC WITH ELASTANE - BLACK - 400 GSM

COTTON RIB KNIT FABRIC WITH ELASTANE - BLACK - 400 GSM is a rib knit fabric for makers, small brands and sewing studios that want more than a generic base fabric. It suits projects where the material has to support the cut, the styling and the final use of the garment, so the result feels planned from the beginning.

What can you sew with it?

It is a strong option for cuffs, waistbands, neckbands, sleeve hems, bomber trims, fitted tops, ribbed dresses, turtlenecks and comfortable base layers. These are the kinds of projects where the fabric choice is visible in the finished piece: in the way the garment sits, how it frames the body and how naturally it fits into a wardrobe or a small collection.

How does it work in a design?

The black colorway is easy to build into a collection because it can either lead the whole design or appear as a quiet, carefully chosen detail. The effect is a clean, intentional finish that makes handmade garments look more complete, which makes the fabric useful for both individual sewing projects and repeatable product ideas.

When is it the right choice?

Choose it when the edge, neckline or fitted section should look planned rather than added at the end. It is the kind of fabric that helps a project feel more finished: the design looks clearer, the styling direction is easier to understand and the final piece has a stronger reason to exist.
